How to measure

How to measure yourself for jacket ordering.

Please let us have the following 5 measurements before you order.

1. Your Height
2. Your Weight
3. Your Chest circumference (wearing a t-shirt only).

Use a measuring tape and measure around your chest (at nipples level).

4. Your Waist circumference (at belly button level).

5. Your Lower Waist circumference (at belt level).

6. Your Shoulder circumference

With the arms relaxed and down at the side, measure around the shoulders just above the biceps. (Don’t take this measurement yourself, ask somebody else to help you so that you have both your arms down at the sides during measurement).

Type A-1

£975.00

This jacket is the predecessor of the TYPE A-2 jacket which finally replaced it in 1931. It was standardized by the US Army Air Corps in 1927 and was in use till late in 1944. The A-1 jacket is based on a 1920s popular civilian style summer jacket, possibly of Italian origin.

The influence of the A-1 jacket persists till today as many jackets of similar style are still offered by various manufacturers worldwide.

The A-1 jacket fits slim and is made of Capeskin which is lightweight leather so the jacket wears very easy and feels quite comfortable. Other leather choices are also available.

Features include wool knit cuffs, waistband and collar, 100% cotton lining, pure cotton thread and horn buttons in either coffee or honey color.

Our main pattern comes from the Gordon and Ferguson version of the jacket, but to please the crowds we have decided to offer also the jacket's alternate versions which are often seen in photos of the era.

Despite that you are being called to buy based on simple line drawing, you can rest assured that we will always deliver a product of Bill Kelso Mfg quality at its highest.
