We are a high end quality leather boutique producing handmade leather garments since the 1980s. Our love for vintage leather jackets lead to the birth of Bill Kelso Mfg brand name under which we manufacture high quality/exact replica WWII flying jacket reproductions and vintage style jackets since 2008.

Our goal is to reproduce jackets as closely as possible to the originals and the best way to do it is by recreating the actual patterns from existing vintage original jackets that have survived until today. Sourcing those original jackets as well as all the right materials has been extremely time-consuming, difficult and costly.

All our jackets are Made-To-Order and produced exclusively in our workshop, by our very experienced leather outerwear specialist, one at a time.  In the making of these fine garments we use only the best quality materials, methods and techniques of the early 20th century. The jackets we produce not only look the part, but they are made with the specifications and high standards of a bygone era when everything they made was built to last. You will find that our jackets have extreme attention to detail, are very durable and also have those high aesthetics and desired trim fit that vintage jacket enthusiasts are after.

Bill Kelso Mfg WARRANT that the TYPE A-2 jackets manufactured are made to the highest possible standards of craftsmanship using original patterns and techniques of the WWII era.

Bill Kelso Mfg WARRANT that the TYPE A-2 jackets offered are made with leathers and colors which are the best match to WWII era leathers, and closest to the original, compared to any other manufacturer’s worldwide, including those priced much higher.

Bill Kelso Mfg WARRANT that the linings used in their TYPE A-2 jackets are made from the exact same material (100% cotton) and in the same colors, weight and weave as per original materials used in the respective A-2 contracts.

Bill Kelso Mfg WARRANT that the knitted cuffs and waistbands used in their TYPE A-2 jackets  are made from the exact same material (100% wool) and in the same colors and weave as per original material used in the respective A-2 contracts.

Bill Kelso Mfg WARRANT that the thread used in their TYPE A-2 jackets is made from the exact same material (100% cotton) and is available in the same colors and weight as used in original TYPE A-2 jackets.

Bill Kelso Mfg WARRANT that the hardware used, i.e. snaps, fasteners and collar hooks, are of same quality, appearance and style as used in original TYPE A-2 jackets . The reproduction items used are the best in quality and accuracy in the world and imported from Japan. The NOS items (wherever available-please ask) are the exact same as used on original TYPE A-2 jackets.

Bill Kelso Mfg WARRANT that the TYPE A-2 jackets produced are the most accurate and close to the originals that you will find in the world. If a customer compares an original vs a Bill Kelso TYPE A-2 jacket of the same contract and can show evidence that Bill Kelso’s jacket is not an accurate reproduction of the original, or that another maker offers a better reproduction, then Bill Kelso Mfg will accept the jacket for return and refund. Furthermore, Bill Kelso Mfg undertakes to replace the jacket with one from the maker who is found to make the best reproduction. (The above excludes comparisons involving Crown zippers which are not available from Bill Kelso Mfg.)
