How to measure yourself for jacket ordering.
Please let us have the following 5 measurements before you order.
1. Your Height
2. Your Weight
3. Your Chest circumference (wearing a t-shirt only).
Use a measuring tape and measure around your chest (at nipples level).
4. Your Waist circumference (at belly button level).
5. Your Shoulder circumference
With the arms relaxed and down at the side, measure around the shoulders just above the biceps. (Don’t take this measurement yourself, ask somebody else to help you so that you have both your arms down at the sides during measurement).
Gordon & Ferguson A.C. Order No 31-800P
This jacket is the predecessor of the TYPE A-2 jacket which finally replaced it in 1931. It was standardised the US Army Air Corps in 1927 and was in use till late in 1944. The A-1 jacket is based on a 1920s popular civilian style summer jacket, possibly of Italian origin.
The influence of the A-1 jacket persists till today as many jackets of similar style are still offered by various manufacturers worldwide.
Our pattern is a copy of the original Gordon and Ferguson jacket seen in “Suit Up! The Flight Jacket” book and is a replica of the contract to the last detail.
The A-1 jacket fits slim and is made of Capeskin which is lightweight leather so the jacket wears very easy and feels quite comfortable.
Features include wool knit cuffs, waistband and collar, 100% cotton lining, pure cotton thread and horn buttons in either coffee or honey color.
Jacket displayed in Victory Capeskin Seal, dull orange lining, dark brown thread and honey color buttons.
