Relic Hunter

The Relic Hunter jacket is a replica of the jacket worn by fictional character professor Indiana Jones in the synonymous movies. More specifically, our jacket is an exact “stitch by stitch” reproduction of a jacket with serial no 517/888, made in California by a renowned maker, which in turn is a 1:1 100% replica of the original film used jacket. To replicate this jacket we used the best quality striated lambskin in the world. Please see the description of Striated Leather in “Our Leathers” section. Jackets made with this leather will look drape and move just like the film jacket. You will not find a better reproduction of this jacket anywhere in the world, guaranteed. We make all three known versions of the jacket, namely:

• "South America 1936" aka Hawaii,
• "Cairo" aka Main Hero,
• "Prototype" aka Bantu Wind

The first is a replica of the jacket that Harrison Ford was wearing in the opening scene of the movie. The second is a replica of the jacket seen in most scenes that took place in Cairo and is also known as the Main Hero jacket. The difference between these two is that the Cairo version has a more rounded storm flap top, more rounded collar and curved pocket flaps in comparison with the South America version which features pointy pocket flaps and more squared storm flap top and collar tips. The third version, is a replica of the first jacket ever made for the movie i.e. the same that was aged personally by Deborah Nadoolman, wardrobe designer for the movie, and was worn by the actor during filming of the Bantu Wind scene shot at La Rochelle, France and later by Terry Leonard during the truck scene. Among the variations this version has are the lower yoke, smaller pockets, differently constructed pleats, underarm gussets and different side strap configuration. Many of our customers have confessed that they sleep in this jacket, refusing to take it off when they go to bed! Jacket depicted is the South America 1936 version made with Striated Lambskin Authentic Brown, dark brown lining and dark brown thread. Needless to say, we have since June 2019 upgraded the hardware to the screen accurate black two prong buckles as standard (the photos you see here are outdated) and we have changed the construction of the side straps to the screen accurate way. Moreover, the choice for lining can be either cotton or polyester. Lastly, the snaps used are made in Italy and not the cheap Chinese ones found in other jackets.
