An icon of cinematic adventure, the Relic Hunter Jacket is a masterful recreation of the legendary garment worn by the fictional professor Indiana Jones. More than a mere tribute, this piece is an exact, stitch-for-stitch reproduction of jacket no. 517/888—crafted in California by a renowned maker—itself a faithful 1:1 replica of the original screen-used jacket.
To achieve absolute authenticity, we employ only the finest striated lambskin, among the most exceptional leathers available worldwide. This remarkable material replicates the natural drape, movement, and character of the original film jacket with astonishing accuracy, ensuring a wearing experience indistinguishable from the cinematic original.
We proudly offer all three historically recognized versions of this iconic jacket:
- “South America 1936” (Hawaii) – the jacket seen in the film’s unforgettable opening sequence
- “Cairo” (Main Hero) – the most recognized version, featuring a softer, more rounded collar, storm flap, and pocket flaps
- “Prototype” (Bantu Wind) – the earliest iteration, personally aged by costume designer Deborah Nadoolman Landis, distinguished by its lower yoke, smaller pockets, unique pleating, underarm gussets, and alternative strap configuration
Each variation reflects subtle yet meaningful differences in construction, offering collectors the opportunity to own a specific moment in cinematic history.
Our latest production incorporates screen-accurate refinements, including black two-prong buckles and corrected side-strap construction, ensuring an unparalleled level of authenticity. We use premium Made in Italy snaps instead of inferior alternatives found in other jackets, while lining options are offered in either cotton or polyester to suit individual preference.
The jacket presented here is the “South America 1936” version, crafted in Striated Lambskin Authentic Brown, with a dark brown lining and matching thread—a piece that embodies adventure, craftsmanship, and timeless style.
This is more than a jacket—it is a wearable legend, an heirloom-quality garment designed for those who demand absolute authenticity, exceptional materials, and the enduring allure of one of cinema’s most iconic characters.
