How to measure yourself for jacket ordering.

Please let us have the following 5 measurements before you order.

1. Your Height
2. Your Weight
3. Your Chest circumference (wearing a t-shirt only).

Use a measuring tape and measure around your chest (at nipples level).

4. Your Waist circumference (at belly button level).

5. Your Lower Waist circumference (at belt level).

6. Your Shoulder circumference

With the arms relaxed and down at the side, measure around the shoulders just above the biceps. (Don’t take this measurement yourself, ask somebody else to help you so that you have both your arms down at the sides during measurement).

Perry 23377

Perry Sportswear Inc. - Contract No. W535 AC-23377

Perry 23377

£1,055.00

Perry Sportswear Inc. had three contracts to procure A-2 jackets and this jacket is a reproduction of what they delivered in their first and smaller contract of December 1941 which was for 20,000 pieces. The jackets of this contract were made almost entirely out of russet goatskin and most examples that we have seen use either Crown or Conmar zippers. Perry's pattern is trim and sharp, like most A-2 were, but a bit longer in the body. It also has wide shoulders which make the upper part more roomy and comfortable.

On thing that sets apart Perry jackets from the other A-2s is the unique stitching style. The top stitching on the collar and pocket flaps is done at 1/4 on an inch from the edges. Another characteristic that is found on many Perry jackets is that the vertical stitch and the back of the collar is off-center, a mistake attributed to hasty work. We made sure to do this the correct way on our reproduction.

In short, the details of this contract are as follows:

  • Russet goatskin
  • Collar with collar stand
  • 1/4 inch gap top stitching around flaps and collar
  • Pockets with square re-enforcing stitching
  • Dull orange lining and dull purple brown thread color
  • Medium brown knits
  • Conmar and Crown zippers
  • Withour triangular stitch reinforcement at the base of the zipper

We offer our reproduction in goatskin and horsehide as well.
