How to measure

How to measure yourself for jacket ordering.

Please let us have the following 5 measurements before you order.

1. Your Height
2. Your Weight
3. Your Chest circumference (wearing a t-shirt only).

Use a measuring tape and measure around your chest (at nipples level).

4. Your Waist circumference (at belly button level).

5. Your Lower Waist circumference (at belt level).

6. Your Shoulder circumference

With the arms relaxed and down at the side, measure around the shoulders just above the biceps. (Don’t take this measurement yourself, ask somebody else to help you so that you have both your arms down at the sides during measurement).

Perry 1756

£1,055.00

A distinguished finale in the legacy of Perry Sportswear Inc., Newburgh, NY, this A-2 jacket represents the company’s last U.S. Army contract, issued in 1943 under which 25,000 jackets were delivered, each bearing the subtlety of an unsigned label. A true collector’s piece, it embodies the refinement, functionality, and enduring style that made Perry jackets a hallmark of American wartime aviation.

The Perry A-2 pattern is athletic yet comfortable, designed to complement the wearer’s form with broad shoulders and a generous torso. Among all wartime contracts, it stands as one of the longest, offering a commanding silhouette without sacrificing mobility.

Signature features include Perry’s iconic collar stand, precise ¼-inch topstitching along pocket flaps and collar, and the distinctive absence of triangular stitch reinforcement at the base of the zipper—details that reflect the company’s meticulous approach to craftsmanship.

Unique construction techniques further elevate this design: the leather panels forming the epaulets are folded beneath the sleeve seam, a method mirrored in the pocket flaps, demonstrating the refined attention to detail that distinguishes Perry jackets from all others. Original examples were executed in rich seal horsehide, typically fitted with brass Conmar zippers, dull orange lining, brown knits, and stitching in muted purple-brown—features faithfully reproduced in this edition.

The details of this contract are as follows:

  • Seal horsehide
  • Collar with collar stand
  • 1/4 inch gap top stitching around pocket flaps and collar
  • Pockets with square re-enforcing stitching
  • Dull orange lining and dull purple brown thread color
  • Brown knits
  • Conmar zippers
  • No triangular stitch reinforcement at the base of the zipper

This jacket is a masterful interpretation of a historic contract, combining historical authenticity with timeless elegance. Rendered in seal horsehide, with dull orange lining, brown knits, and Perry-purple stitching, it is a wearable testament to American aviation heritage and the uncompromising craftsmanship of Perry Sportswear.

This contract is historically distinguished by subtle variations in collar design, with some jackets featuring elegantly rounded collars and others exhibiting sharply defined points. We offer both interpretations, and invite discerning customers to specify their preferred style when placing an order.
