Jolly Rogers

Special Limited Edition

Jolly Rogers

£1,250.00

This jacket is based on the jacket worn by Colonel Arthur H. Rogers, Commander of the 90th Bombardment Group, also known as “THE JOLLY ROGERS” (named after him), which turned out by recorded facts to be "the Best Damn Heavy Bombardment Group" in the world.

The artwork on the back of our jacket is the same as the nose art of Col. Arthur’s own bomber aircraft, the B-24D-5-CO Liberator called "Susbella / Connell's Special" with Serial Number 41-23765.

Late in 1942, this B-24 was modified at Hickam Field, Hawaii, adding a Consair A-6 twin 50 caliber tail turret to the nose, the first bomber with this addition, making it one of the key B-24's of the war. The “Special” project was conceived by Col. A. H. Rogers himself.

The jacket features:

  • Hand painted 90th Bombardment Group patch
  • Hand painted 320th Bomb Squadron “Moby Dick” patch
  • Handmade multi layer leather 5th Air Force shoulder roundel patch
  • Handmade rank insignia of Colonel
  • Handmade Name Plate – Leather “ARTHUR H. ROGERS”

Jacket on display made with Victory Horsehide Seal, dull orange lining and medium brown thread.
