Own a piece of history with J.A. Dubow's W535-ac-20960 contract, a legendary World War II aviation classic. Originally crafted in 1941 for U.S. Army Air Forces pilots, this jacket represents Dubow’s very first A-2 contract, combining rugged durability with iconic military style. Our reproduction is made from premium Liberty horsehide, which develops a rich, beautiful patina with wear, and faithfully captures the oversized, uniquely shaped collar that sets this contract apart from all other Dubow jackets, including the original collar stand construction. All known wartime examples feature russet horsehide, Crown zippers, ball stud snaps, dark brown thread and Dubow's signature dull purple knits.
Designed with a slim, tailored fit, square shoulders, and functional front pockets, the 20960 jacket offers both style and comfort, while the classic cotton lining and meticulous stitching ensure lasting quality. Whether you are a collector, a flight jacket enthusiast, or simply looking for a bold statement piece, the 20960 lets you carry the spirit of World War II aviation every day, making it as timeless as it is iconic.
Our reproduction corrects a longstanding flaw found in most previous interpretations: the collar is precisely aligned, eliminating the misplacement that forces the collar snap to be set on the zipper seam and causing the collar to look faulty as it is noticeably crooked when fastened.
The jacket on display is crafted in Liberty Russet Horsehide, with tobacco-brown lining, dark brown stitching, and dulled purple knits—an impeccable collector’s garment executed with unparalleled precision, allowing its wearer to carry the spirit of World War II aviation with elegance and authority. This is not merely a jacket; it is a legacy, destined to be treasured for generations.
